Jette Joop was born in Braunschweig, attended high school in Hamburg, and completed her secondary school years in Oxford, England, where she earned her International Baccalaureate diploma. She then studied design at the Art Center College of Design in California, USA. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree, she worked for Barry Kieselstein-Cord and Polo Ralph Lauren in New York, among others.
In September 1997, she founded her own company, now JETTE GmbH, located in Hamburg and Berlin.
Jette Joop has served as the children’s ambassador of the German Red Cross since September 2003 and is involved in several projects of the German Red Cross.
In 2006, she received the Duftstars award for her first fragrance, “JETTE.” In 2008, the association Märchenland e.V. honored her with the Goldene Erbse award for her dedication as a children’s ambassador of the German Red Cross. Then, in 2009, Jette Joop was bestowed with the Leading Ladies award in the category, “Unternehmen mit Frauenpower international” (“international companies with powerful women”).
Jette Joop lives and works in Hamburg and Berlin. She is married and the mother of a daughter and a son.
